One day in the Loch /
discovering Scotland
As we are in Scotland, we are going to try to visit most of the Lochs here! yeah ok maybe this is impossible to reach, but we have to try! In this occasion we are visiting Loch Tay, and as I say before you have here many things to see and to do as well. For us the starting point in the Loch was Kenmore, is a little village next to the shore. It is very little but nice, and there is some kind of castle but it's more like a resort with golf facilities than a ´regular´ castle, we only saw it from the outside. There is a picnic area on the shore with nice views of the loch and sometimes with some friendly and hungry ducks.
Now you can go and visit the Scottish Crannog Centre, that is a reconstruction of an ancient loch dwelling and the idea is to see how the people lived in the Iron Age. I can't say anything more about it because it was closed when we went there, you have to discover it for yourselves :) Anyway you can take some nice fotos of the little building, it's a very interesting place.
From here, you have to go to the other end of the loch, to Killin, because you are going to find there the Falls of Dochart. If the river is generous, this place is amazing! my advice: tripod and some long exposure photos from the bottom. There is a narrow path and you can walk quite close of the water, is not dangerous, but just in case: be carefull! You always have to be just a little bold to could take some shots, but it's worth it!
Some tips:
-As always, picnic! There are many places with picnic areas all around the loch.
-If you want some nice coffee and a piece of cake, I can recommend you this place, check my review on tripadvisor: Taymouth Marina Restaurant
